Although the women declined to discuss the method of fertilization or the name of the sperm donor, Etheridge said, "Both Julie and I have been planning this for a long time, and we couldn't be happier.” Etheridge and Cypher will be on tour this summer to promote Etheridge's new album, Your Little Secret.

Travolta in Phenomenon and Helen Mirren in Losing Chase. Sedgwick said of the kisses in the two films shot back-to-back, "I kissed a guy and I kissed a gal, and my lips couldn't tell the difference." In the final production, the kiss with Travolta wound up on the cutting room floor-the one with Mirren didn't.
Liz, the closeted half of the young lesbian couple on Showtime's new sexual drama series Bedtime; has been torn by doubt about her sexual orientation. Liz said her heart told her that she was a lesbian while her head told her she was supposed to be straight. Liz's closet issues were threatening the relationship, so Liz's lover challenged Liz to figure out whether she is gay or not while she was out of town. In an attempt to sort things out, Liz came home with her first man in two years, but realized she really is a lesbian without the necessity of going to bed with him. Bedtime can be seen on Showtime Fridays at 11 pm, repeating Mondays and Thursdays at 10 pm.

The Human Rights Campaign ran pro-gay marriage television ads during the Republican Convention in San Diego. The ads, which were to air on ABC, CBS, NBC and CNN in San Diego; show presidential candidate Bob Dole and his second wife Elizabeth while a voiceover says, “At one time, a divorced man would not have made an ideal candidate for president." Then the announcer says, "Some marriages would not have been accepted by some people," as the scene changes to Republican Sen. Phil Gramm and his Korean-American wife Wendy. A shot of African-American Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and his wife Virginia, who is white, appears as the voice says, "Some marriages were so shocking to the majority that they were not even legal." "Some still are not," the ads conclude, with a picture of a lesbian couple. "Why are Bob Dole and Congress wasting our time with new laws attacking gay relationships? They have better things to do."
Let's hope these ads run nationally during the campaign for the presidency.
